30,000 IslandsSailing AdventuresCruise and Learn on Georgian Bay |
30,000 Islands Sailing Adventures has been operating as a member sailing school of the Canadian Yachting Association and the Ontario Sailing Association since 1988 conducting live aboard courses at the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels. We operate on Georgian Bay from Killbear Marina just west of Parry Sound in the heart of the 30,000 Islands.
Successful completion of our courses qualifies our clients for certification under the Learn to Cruise Standards of the CYA (see course outlines). Prices quoted include GST, on board accommodation, instruction, and course materials. Provisioning is not included.
Our programs are conducted on a fully equipped O'Day 322 and are ideally suited for sailors who wish to develop the knowledge, skill, and confidence to either operate their own boat, or bare-boat charter.
The maximum number of persons for our Basic and Intermediate courses is three, or four if a family or group of friends. Our prices are very competitive with other schools, and we offer longer courses (5 full days from Sunday afternoon to Saturday morning) with smaller groups giving maximum "hands on" experience on a superb yacht, in mint condition which is ideally suited for live aboard courses.

We operate in the 30,000 Islands and northern Georgian Bay, an area which is famed for its sailing and navigational challenges, scenic beauty, clean water, and quiet anchorages. The following quote from the Winter 1996 issue of Canadian Yachting attests to this. "Mike Young's 30,000 Islands school specializes in live aboard courses in some of the most spectacular and challenging cruising grounds in Eastern Canada." Our program is organized to ensure that clients enjoy a relaxing holiday as well as a challenging learning experience.
