CRUISING COURSES 2007

BASIC CRUISING - Price $895 (6 days).

The Basic course is conducted in the Parry Sound area extending south to Sans Souci and north to Pte. au Baril. This is an introductory course and no prior knowledge or experience is required. You acquire the basic knowledge and skills required to live aboard and operate a keel boat in moderate conditions.

Topics included are:

-terminology and definitions
-basic knots & seamanship
-safety & emergency procedures
-basic charting & navigation
-points of sail
-handling under power
-rules of the road
-docking & anchoring

INTERMEDIATE CRUISING - Price $895 (6 days).

The Intermediate course includes a cruise to another Georgian Bay destination to provide an open water navigational challenge. You will master the knowledge and skills required to act as skipper and capable crew on a large keel boat.

ADVANCED CRUISING - Price $995 (7 days)

The Advanced Course is a rigorous and challenging cruise on Georgian Bay and Northern Lake Huron. A 24 hour watch system is maintained to allow the boat to be sailed continuously day and night. It is designed to develop your ability to act as skipper and capable crew both day and night in all weather conditions.
