THE MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT KIT
The new motor vehicle accident leglislation contains many hurdles to a claimant and requires that early notice and substantial information be given both to your own insurer and to the party at fault in the accident. You must provide the other party with a Statutory Declaration describing the accident and your claim.
The kit has been published in order to assist you and to answer the following questions:
When must an injured victim notify the other driver?
What information must be contained in the notice?
How soon should you sue if you've suffered a loss of income?
Is there still a no-fault threshold?
Does the threshold apply to a loss of income?
The Kit contains a glossary to help you understand your claim better. Extracts from the Act and Regulations are included. Forms, including a `fill in the blanks' Statutory Declaration, are provided. The contents of the Kit are described below.
