Reading Week
Six plays in development or under consideration by Factory were presented as public readings in the Studio Theatre from February 15 to 19.
CrossCurrents Festival
The fourth annual CrossCurrents ran from April 8 to 16. Described as "Factory Theatre's national new play develoment program dedicated to fostering innovative works by writers of colour," the festival featured six readings in the Studio Theatre. Other events included fu-GEN Asian-Canadian Theatre Company's second annual Potluck Festival of new works from their playwriting unit on April 9 and the launch of a revised edition of Beyond the Pale: Dramatic Writing by First Nations Writers and Writers of Colour, published by Playwrights Canada Press, on April 13. Jean Yoon was the festival producer, and Nina Lee Aquino was associate producer.
