Photographic Services

In addition to issuing its own imprints, McLaren Micropublishing offers photographic services to libraries and archives with a need to microfilm newspapers, serials or manuscripts in their own collections.

Our microfilm production specializes in the handling of rare or fragile materials. As well, our equipment enables us to microfilm bound volumes up to 4" thick, without disbinding and with no damage to the originals. Sharp images with perfect definition throughout the photographic field are free of distortion even at the inside of margins.

A computer-driven laser printer produces the title page and other film targets, resulting in a microform that is as aesthetically pleasing as a well-designed book. Library of Congress practice for the microfilming of books and newspapers is followed for the collation, bibliographical arrangement on film, image placement, reduction ratio and other technical considerations.
