Whereas Canada was founded by monarchists loyal to the Crown, and has continued to be loyal to the Crown, rather than loyal to a foreign republic.

We, the loyal, patriotic supporters of this unique Canadian institution hereby state that...

1. We are of different racial, ethnic, religious, cultural and linguistic background.
    
2. We share different political and social beliefs.
    
3. We support the position of the monarchy in Canada from its French and British roots, and believe that the monarchy should continue to represent a more multicultural Canada.
    
4. We remind those advocating change that Canada has always been a monarchy -- from its days as Native Indian tribal monarchy, to the modern international monarchy.
    
5. We allege that the republican drive to change Canada's unique institution is an injustice to those who founded this nation.
    
6. We are not a group that wishes "British" assimilation of Canada, in such matters as flying the Union Flag etc... and refuse the notion that those who defend the Queen of Canada and the institutions she represents are less Canadian or less nationalistic or less modern than those who promote change.
    
7. We believe the republicans' drive is a distracting and divisive issue when Canada is faced with many other issues and challenges to overcome.
    
8. We allege that our present system, as it has evolved over time, has provided Canada with an excellent record of democratic government and full measure of independence and egalitarianism which republicans advocate. We resent the xenophobic republican attitude that Canada can not share its head of state with other nations.
    
9. We believe that the xenophobic republican attitude is hurting Canada -- a nation which is one of the few in the world to share its head of state with different nations and cultures -- especially at a time where the world is thinking more globally.
    
10. Some of us believe that we are already becoming more Americanized. By taking this last step, we are not only losing a part of our history and culture, but also our identity.
     
11. Some of us simply enjoy the history, and the ceremony associated with our monarchy. We believe that the Crown is a symbol of our past and should continue to be a symbol of our future.
     
12. We are also angered by the recent attacks on the Queen of Canada, Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty has served Canada to the best of her ability, and we believe the recent attacks are unjustified.
