We're back to regular hours - 10 am to 5:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 10 am to 7 pm on Wednesday; 10 am to 5 pm Saturday; closed on Sunday.

Knitters - Our Design course has been a very popular addition to our courses. It will take a year and you will design and knit 4 items. Learn to be creative and not be tied to patterns. Phone the store for details. This class should help you use some of the fun new yarns that have very little pattern backup.
New - Marisol is the name of a new yarn from Peru. This yarn is soft, luxurious and reasonable. When you buy this yarn, some of the proceeds help build schools for children of the Shepherds. As well as all the basics, we now have some of the incredible, unusual yarns you see advertised in the American magazines, like Ironstone, Berrocco, Hand Maiden, Fleece Artist, Tahki Charles, Trendsetter, Prism etc.
We have a good selection of hand-dyed yarn from Fleece Artist. These are blends of silk and cashmere, great for tops, cardigans, or shawls. Remember, ponchos are the new cardigans.

Quilters - Lots of new fabric for your inspiration! Stock up for those days at home...
Our block of the month called a "Toonie a time" has also been popular. Come each month and for a toonie, taxes included, you will get the fabric and instructions for a block. This is a fun way to try different patterns which could be used for a whole quilt. All the blocks use thangles which is a fast efficient way to make 1/2 square triangles.

Everyone - If you're looking for accessories for your knitting and sewing, we have a nice selection of custom-designed and hand-made jewellery in the store, at very reasonable prices. Our designer, Tamara Snell, will even make variations to order if you want a different combination of semi-precious stones. Worth a look next time you're in.
Make a loopy scarf in an hour with our hairpin lace sets! A spectacular way of showing off unusual yarns. The standard hairpin limits you to one width. Now you can get a set of three different sizes of hairpins, hand-made to our specifications.
We carry tables for sewing and knitting machines. Most standard tables are too short, too wide, too flimsy and take up too much space. Our tables are designed especially for sewers and machine knitters. They have a smooth work surface, no rails (so you can clamp your knitting machine to them), and folding legs so you can stash them away when dinner guests arrive. They come in plain white, white with wood trim, or wood-veneer particleboard. And if you want a custom size, we can make it to order at no extra cost. Reasonably priced.
