Musically Speaking 2012
This one-hour program of historical performance is now at a NEW LOCATION: St. David's Anglican Church, 49 Donlands Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M4J 3N5. This intimate setting is conveniently located across from the Donland subway station (on the Bloor-Danforth line). The program begins at 2:30 on the following Sundays:
Sunday, January 15, 2012 – Alison Melville (flute), Elyssa Lefurgey-Smith (violin), Justin Haynes (viola da gamba), and Sara-Anne Churchill (harpsichord) perform a mixed program that includes a trio sonata by CPE Bach, a beautiful Chaconne by Morel, and Telemann's wonderful Paris Quartet IV in E minor.
Sunday, February 26, 2012 - The Elixir Baroque Ensemble (Elyssa Lefurgey-Smith, violin; Justin Haynes, viola da gamba; and Sara-Anne Churchill, harpsichord) with special guest violinist Christopher Verrette. They will be performing a concert of mid-17th century chamber music, from German-speaking regions, by native composers such as Johann Schmelzer, and also influential foreigners such as William Young and Antonio Bertali.
Sunday, March 25, 2012 – The Art of the Baroque Oboe – featuring Tafelmusik's principal oboist John Abberger accompanied by harpsichordist Sara-Anne Churchill
Sunday, April 15, 2012 – The Musicians in Ordinary (singer Hallie Fishel and lutenist John Edwards)
