3D drawing on cardstock

Drawing - The Third Dimension takes an actual drawing on paper and gives it some three-dimensional punch. As much of the exploration targets the deconstruction of fairly uncomplicated drawings even those with modest drawing ability will find themselves amazed at what they can turn out.

INVASION
Paper Sculpture Workskhop

In the fall of 2009 Paul worked with pupils and staff at the French school Gabrielle-Roy in downtown Toronto. They made hundreds of insect drawings which they cut out, twisted, bent, strectched and folded to make the insects three-dimensional. The insects were, then, "set free" in the school, "released" at home and "introduced" into a gallery at the Alliance française of Toronto.

The Ontario Arts Council covered the artist's fees, the school payed for the art materials and the Alliance française provided the gallery space, assisted the artist in the installation and the taking down of the exhibition, organized the opening and publicized the event.
