I used to just give the chain a wash to highlight the links, but after examining the
box art and 1:1 reference pictures of the Honda NSR250 I tried something else. With a very
fine paint brush, I paint flat black between all the gold chain links on the sides. And
on the top and bottom of the chain between the rollers. Then I put a drop of flat back on
top of each link pin. A very convincing looking chain was the result. Take a moment
to look at the box art or 1:1 references pictures before painting the chain. Careful
painting here can give you an outstanding result.
